The BeamNG.tech simulator is compatible with the x64 CPU architecture on these operating systems:
- Windows 10/11 *
- Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 (experimental) **
On Linux, only X11 and XWayland window system protocols are known to work (no Wayland).
*Let us note that Windows 10 support will soon reach End of Life (EoL).
**Note that the v0.35 is the last BeamNG.tech version for Ubuntu 20.04, which reaches its EoL very soon.
Other operating systems and platforms, emulators and compatibility layers are not officially supported!
- A 64-bit operating system is required.
- BeamNG.tech can use a lot of RAM (+16GB).
- The following requirements refers to desktop hardware. Laptop hardware, despite similar naming on some components, may be slower.
- Using performance-heavy sensors such as Cameras, Lidars and Radars will lead to increased hardware requirements depending on the amount of sensors used and their parameters.
