Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL)

BeamNG.tech supports both Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulation methodologies, enabling comprehensive testing of vehicle systems with real hardware components and human drivers. HIL and DIL scenarios are authored by you; BeamNG.tech provides the simulation environment and tooling (Flowgraph, ScriptAI, and the Mission system) to build and run them.

Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Simulation

HIL simulation integrates real hardware components, such as electronic control units (ECUs), with the simulated vehicle environment. This allows for testing and validation of hardware behavior under various simulated conditions.

Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) Simulation

DIL simulation incorporates human drivers into the testing process, enabling evaluation of driver behavior, human-machine interfaces, and ADAS feature effectiveness.
